Concepts
~ Section covering the theory part of the business world, which are tested in the interviews.
Decision Model: BCG Matrix
A simple BCG Matrix diagram or template can be used to plan your Growth Market Share strategy.
The Stars is the scenario where there is the optimum situation of high growth and high share, this method requires an increased investment due to the continuous growth.
The Cash Cow cycle deals with low growth and high share. This scenario requires a low investment, but the growth is very slow.
The Dogs method is the situation where the growth is low and the market share is low, this is one of the worst situations. In this situation if the products are not delivering the cash then it is best to liquidate.
The last part of the cycle is the Question mark which is high market growth but low shares. In this situation there is a high demand but low returns. It is best to try and increase market share or get it to deliver cash.
Product Metrics: Newsletters KPI
To analyze a newsletter campaign, you need different metrics, which you can then use to calculate KPIs.
Amount distributed: the number of e-mails sent within a newsletter campaign. This amount indicates the number that have been sent out, but not necessarily whether they have actually arrived in the recipients’ inboxes or not.
Bounces: these are the e-mails that haven’t been delivered within a newsletter campaign.
Openings: the number of e-mails that are opened. The opening rate is detected by tracking technology used in newsletter campaigns.
Mobile openings: the number of emails opened on a mobile device, which has been detected by tracking.
Clicks: the number of times a link has been clicked on in a newsletter campaign.
Unsubscriptions: the number of people unsubscribing from a newsletter.
Soft Skills: The Art of Disagreement
Mastering the art of considerate disagreement means expressing your beliefs without shutting down the discussion or angering the other side. For this to happen, you have to listen more, be willing to change your perspective on disagreement and learn to better your arguments.
Take the time to gather facts that support the opposite point of view.
Demonstrate that you're listening by reframing their position in your words and then ask for confirmation that you have it right.
A better approach is to ditch the entire notion of winners and losers. Instead, you’re both on the same team working toward a better solution.
It is essential for success. It’s the hallmark of an engaged and involved team member. And it opens the way for testing and improving new ideas.

Preparation Articles: Resume Writing
Your resume in a job application is essentially the document that's going to market you to potential employers before you get the chance to come in for an interview.
Your resume should start with a "headline summary." It is a very brief summary of what you have to offer as a job candidate. It should be less than two sentences.
Describe your work experience in a series of lists. Lists are easier to view than written sentences.
Look at the required skills listed in the job description so you'll have a good idea of what you need to list. List the most effective skills at the top.
List the level of the degree, then the field of study, then the name and general information of the institution.
If you're applying to a job online, make sure you stand out to the hiring staff and to the computer program that sorts applications.

Practice Questions
~ Section to build our critical analysis and reasoning!
Case Questions: Profitability | Fast Food
7th edition of the IIM-A Case Book
Your client is the owner of a famous Burger Chain in India with various outlets located in and around major tech cities- Hyderabad, Bangalore and Pune near the major tech parks and major shopping malls. For the past two years you are facing decline in the profits. What’s the reason behind it, and how would you improve the profits?
The question and solution is Case 17: Profitability | Fast Food
Product Questions: What’s your ideal project?
The ideal project is the one that you’re hiring for of course! But seriously, try to get them to answer honestly. It will let you know what sort of projects they prefer to work on. In doing so you’ll get a better feel for what kind of work excites them and maybe even what they excel at. This can help you place the project manager with the right project, or help them adapt to the project you’re hiring them to manage.
HR Questions: Where do you see your self in next 5/10 years?
Interviewers ask about your future career goals and objectives for two reasons:
They want to know if you’re going to stay put in the new position.
They want to know if your long-term career goals align with the company.
They want to know that the position will satisfy you and that you'll work hard and stay with the company for a long time.
You want to give the hiring manager the impression that you’re content with the position as is. But you should also express enthusiasm about developing in a realistic way.
Also, show that your personal career goals align with the company's long-term goals. They’re looking for people eager to work abroad. You’re eager to work abroad. Sounds like a match made in heaven, right?
Thank you!
I would suggest you follow the method of "make slight changes while practising". Also, I would like you to have a small group (2-5 members) who would keep the check on progress.
Feel free to drop me a mail for any suggestions or ideas!
